Convenient FDA-approved Home Sleep Test for Children

  • At WindHaven Pediatric Dentistry in Aubrey and Prosper, Texas, we are committed to providing comprehensive oral care to help your child thrive! This why we offer the only FDA-approved home sleep test that is approved for children older than 2 years old, to help diagnose any sleep-disorders that can be causing your child to snore, mouth-breathe, grind his/her teeth, bed wet, have night terrors, struggle with hyperactivity and/or ability to concentrate during the day, or struggle with emotional regulation.
  • Home Sleep Testing (HST) is a qualitative diagnostic tool that allows you to monitor your child’s sleep patterns and identify any potential sleep disorders from the comfort of your own home! This non-invasive test involves wearing a small monitor that tracks your child’s breathing, oxygen levels, heart rate, and other important indicators while they sleep. The data is then analyzed by our team of professionals to determine if they have a sleep-related disorder.

Soan: electronic dental anesthetic delivery system

No more dangers of lip/ cheek-biting from dental numbness, after treatment!

There are a few downsides to traditional dental anesthesia (“injection”) when dental treatment is needed. The traditional device is a syringe needle (looks scary to kids). and the traditional technique numbs both the teeth and the soft tissue around it (cheeks/ lip). Typically after the procedure, patients are asked not to chew for about 2-3 hours to prevent “lip/cheek biting” trauma. For a young child age 2-7 years old, telling them not to bite/ suck on their numb lips is usually a daunting task for parents.

This is why this new, state-of-the-art device called the Soan is a game-changer!

It is an electronic dental anesthetic delivery system that:

  1. Does not look like a needle! It looks like a pen so it is more accepting for children.
  2. Provides numbness to teeth, therefore still keeping your child comfortable during dental treatment, BUT does not cause soft tissue numbness! This means there is a significantly less chance of them biting their cheeks/lip after dental treatment. In many cases, your child is even allowed to eat/ drink right away.

Here at WindHaven Pediatric Dentistry, our Doctors are always staying on top of learning the newest technology to provide your child dental care with excellence!
